Softball!!!

Tonight I got to get out and play softball for the first time in a few years! I had a great time. I am playing with a girl from work on her church's team. She has never played before but was looking for something to do this summer to get some exercise and found this team. When she told me about it, I told her that I would play with her if she played. That is the one sport that I like to play (not that I am that great at it). So tonight we got to play our first game and did great! I even got a good hit and caught a fly ball in the outfield.

This weekend is Beth's wedding and I am super excited about it! I will have to take pictures and post them next week.

Fun...but a little cold!

The other night my friends Melissa and Thomas came over and he had his sisters convertible with him. Since Melissa had never been in one we decided to go for a ride. The weather was wonderful, but after dark it got a little cold with the wind while driving.

a fun weekend!

This past weekend was a busy one, but so much fun! Saturday started out with Lydia coming over to play for a little bit. We didn't have to much time together, Lydia liked playing with Bella of course.

Then Saturday night I hosted Beth's wedding shower here at my apartment. We had a blast!!! We had a wonderful selection of food and enjoyed talking to Beth about more wedding plans.

Michelle made her "big cookie" for us and tried to decorate it but had a few little problems...it still tasted just as good!!!

I am so excited for her wedding! The day is going to be so much fun!

I was so tired by the end of the night, but it was so worth it!

Week of the Young Child

This week we are celebrating the Week of the Young Child. We are doing special things all week...yesterday we had a safety day with fire trucks and and ambulance. Today we got to have a center wide balloon launch. Each age group had a different color of balloon and then we attached a note with the center's address asking for whoever finds it to send it back to us with a short letter. The older kids get more into it that the infants, but it is still fun!

I know you couldn't see them while we were outside, but we all got to tye-dye shirts for our class. The infants were all yellow.

Our babies don't get what is going on, but I love to be a part of a center that celebrates and has fun together!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Tonight we all got together to celebrate grandma's birthday. Josh brought fried chicken and all the fixings from Culver's. It tasted so good since I worked this afternoon and didn't eat lunch!
Grandma loved having everyone there! I think she gets lonely sometimes and loves to have people to entertain.
We played the card game, spoons, and Lydia thought it was alot of fun to act like she was playing with us. To her it looked like we were just throwing cards around, so she joined right it with that. She loved it! (sorry, I forgot to flip the picture before I loaded it)
Lydia also liked helping Grandma blow out the candles. Shannon said she likes to sing "Happy Birthday" but I think she was still a little confused when we all sang.

She liked playing horse with me. I got tired easy, but it is hard to say not to her!

Shannon, Josh and I were in the other room talking when we noticed it was a little quiet. This is what Shannon found when she got up.
I think we all had a great time celebrating tonight. Shannon made a wonderful homemade lemon cake to go along with the wonderful dinner. I love having nights like this together!

They really surprised me! I was not expecting it at all!

Mom sent me a big balloon in a box attached to a bag of Mother's frosted animal cookies. She knows how much I like them!!!

Lydia got to help me blow out the candles! She thought it was so much fun she wanted to do it again.

Today was my birthday and I was feeling a little down because it is my first birthday without my mom and dad here (mom always makes it a special day). I had a great morning at work with treats and balloons from my coworkers...and I got to leave at noon. I ended up taking Bella to the vet to get her vaccinations (which needed to be done) then ran to a few stores to get some things. The plan was to meet my friend Melissa for dinner and I thought we would go to run a few more things in Rockford. Well, she had some other plans!

She told me she had to run to her house to get something and when we got there some of my family and friends were there to surprise me! I was so excited (a little scared at first)! It was so much fun! I don't have any pictures because my camera was in Melissa's car because I thought we were leaving again to go into Rockford. I am going to try to get a few from her or from Shannon. I will post then when I can. I had a great birthday!

Beth's shower

Alright, I know I said I would try to post more often now that I have internet, but I have been so busy with work and everything. I have been picking up as many hours as I can and getting lots of over time. It is nice on the pay check, but it leaves little time to do other things.




Saturday was my friend Beth's bridal shower in Madison. Her fiance's family lives there and his sisters and mom did a shower for his side of the family. It was alot of fun! We played some fun games and has some good food.

Beth's sister-in-law (and brother) got her this sign for their new house. She was so excited about it!

I have internet!!!

Shelley and I now have internet in our apartment!! It is so nice to get on the computer and know that I will be able to check my email. Hopefully this means I will be able to update my blog a little more often. Not much is new around here (other than the internet excitement). Tomorrow I am going to my friend Beth's bridal show! Maybe I will take some pictures and post them tomorrow.
