Happy Easter

For Easter we went to have dinner at Shannon and Josh's house. We had a ton of food, but it was sure good! Lydia enjoyed having so many people to play with. Plus, Grandma and Grandpa Nordgren brought a Easter basket for her! She loved opening that!
We did and egg hunt for Lydia. She loved hunting for them and was very upset when we were done.
Shannon was counting with Lydia to make sure we found them all.
Lydia loved playing with Grandpa and Daddy in her room. She was making them go for a ride in the car with a seat belt and everything.
I know this is a little fuzzy, but I thought it was to cute to not post. She got a few pairs of sunglasses in one of her baskets and was sharing them with everyone.
I had a great time with everyone! Thanks Shannon and Josh for the wonderful meal! Hope every one was able to enjoy their Easter!

Some more pictures from our trip!

Yes, my internet was strong enough to load pictures!!! So here are some pictures off my camera that I took in Texas (the rest was off my mom's camera).

Our plane ride to Texas. She looked so small in that big seat and the seat belt just went tight enough for her!
Thank goodness for the personal DVD player!
Having fun with Grandma and Grandpa!
The zoo watching a monkey
I went to wake her up after a almost 4 hour nap and this is how I found her!
Washing potatoes with Grandma. We ate so good while we were there!!!

Home!!!!

Well, we got home! We had a few problems traveling yesterday, but looking back it wasn't as bad as it could have been. We got to the airport with enough time for Lydia and I to get everything check and get through security, but found out that our flight was going to be 1 1/2 hours late. So we decided to go let Lydia take a nap in the car. Once we got on the plane we sat for close to a hour and found out one of the pilots was going into overtime and could not fly! So they took us off the plane while they looked for another pilot. Less than 5 min. later we were back on! It is hard to explain to a 2 year old why we get off and then back on the plane. It was a tough ride but we got trough it. She ended up falling asleep right before we landed, which made her very crabby when I woke her up to get off. I think she was still half asleep when she saw her mom and dad and didn't realize who they were but when we got her to the car she was alot happier. I have more pictures to post, but I haven't loaded them yet. I will try to get those in the next few days.

Pictures went great!!!

We got Lydia's Pictures done and she did great!!! It was a little hard to get her to smile because she is so serious with everything she does, but we did it and we got some wonderful pictures. We then went to dinner at a really good sandwich place here and now I am off to pack to go home. I cant believe the week is over already. I am excited to go home, but it is kind of disappointing to leave. I will try to keep posting when I get home if my internet ever works long enough. Please pray that Lydia and I have a save and smooth trip tomorrow.

Children's Museum

This morning we got to go to the children's museum! I was very excited because I remember going to one in Colorado when I was little. I was hoping it was going to be just as fun...and it was!!!! Lydia had a wonderful time! She loves to watch the other kids and exploring everything.
Every room was a different theme. This is the hospital nursery. They had the beds that baby are in and a scale to weigh them.
Then we went into the grocery store. The children's museum that I remember had one just like this one. I loved watching her get all the groceries she thought she needed and...
...take them to the check out to pay. Just like her mommy and aunt used to do when we were little!
They also had an area outside to play in water. She loved it and got so wet. Good thing it is warm here!
This afternoon we are going to get her portraits done. I just hope everything goes smoothly and she is happy for it! I'll let you know what happens!

Monday

This morning we got up and didn't really have any plans so we decided to go to a mall that mom had heard had a fun place for Lydia to play. She was so excited to see the easter bunny. At first she just waved and would go near him, then out of no where she ran up and gave him a hug. It was so cute.
We did end up taking her to the pace to play. She was a little slow starting, but as soon as she saw the other kids jumping and playing she was just fine.
She loved the big slide! I thought she was going to be scared of it, but she kept saying "more" as soon as she got down it.
After her nap, Mom and I decided to take her to see "Horton Hears a Who". It was her first movie in a theater and she did wonderful! We all loved it...it was a very cute movie!

Mom had gotten her a Horton stuffed animal and a book, so of course she had to take it to see the movie.

After the movie we met Dad for dinner and now we are going to watch Nemo. I can't believe we only have one more full day here!

Sunday

Sunday morning we got to go watch Mom teach Sunday School. Lydia loved watching all the kids in the class and coloring with them.

After we were done inside we went out to meet Dad. He drives a golf cart around the parking lot and brings people in.
After nap, we got to get the play dough out that was in Lydia's easter basket. Even Grandpa decided to play with us!
Grandpa also decided to help Lydia color. She loves it when Grandma or Grandpa sit and do things with her.

easter egg hunt and the park

Yesterday afternoon mom wanted to do an easter egg hunt for Lydia. She got very excited when mom started showing her there were eggs hidden in the back yard. After she was done with that, she pulled greandma in her tent to open all the eggs. After dinner we went to another park. This time it was the one was behind mom's school that she teaches at. She had so much fun and I just love this picture of the two of us!
She is really enjoying all the toys that grandma has gotten for her. The playhouse is from when Shelley was little and has everything you can think of to go with it.
Last night before she went to bed she asked for pop corn. It is a strange thing for a 2 year old to ask for but she knew what she wanted. Of course Aunt Stacey and Grandpa didnt complain.

This morning we went to church and watched Grandma with her Sunday School class. I will get the pictures for that later. She is sleeping now, but I am sure there is more fun to come tonight!

Texas trip with Lydia!

Sorry everyone it has been so long since I updated my blog, but I just can't seem to get my internet at home to work long enough to get anything done.

Well, I am now in Texas visiting my parents again but this time I have someone with me. Shannon and Josh went to Colorado for a wedding and Lydia and I decided to take a trip too. I was a little nervous about taking her on the plane (her first time) but she did wonderful. We played with a few small toys, talked about the clouds out the window and watched a movie that put her to sleep for about 45 min.(thank goodness for personal DVD players). Sher was very excited to see Grandma and Grandpa but a little confused at first. Once we showed her all the toys, she was just fine.

We got to have a wonderful steak dinner! It was so nice to have a home cooked meal! Lydia is so cute when she prayes before she eats.
Then Grandma gave her a bath in her big tub. Lydia had so much fun! It was more like a swimming pool for her.
Yesterday (Friday) my Dad took off of work to spend the day with us. We went to breakfast and to his plant to have Lydia meet everyone there. After Mom got home from school we went to The Incredible Pizza Planet for dinner. It was good food and fun games for Lyda.

She was so serious with everything we did. She had fun, but was so interested in what everyone else was doing.

Mom and Dad have a little park right down the street and Lydia loves the swings and slides. We have taken a walk there both nights.

Today we went to the San Antonio zoo. It was so much fun! Lydia loved seeing the animals and we loved watching her!

They had a little petting zoo that let the kids brush and feed the goats. She enjoyed that!

We decided to take an ice cream break. It was so nice to be outside after being in all winter!

She is enjoying having Grandma and Grandpa to play with and get her anything shee wants. I am just afraid she is going to have a hard time going back home to Illinois.
