update!

So, here is an update of the last few weeks. I have been busy with family and friends. My good friend Michelle is moving to CA so we got together with another friend for dinner and go-karts! We will miss you Michelle!!!!
We went over to Shannon and Josh's house to celebrate Mom's birthday. Of course we all loved it because we got to spend time with Lydia and Joshua.

Lydia loved helping with the candles.
I gave mom a book that she learned to read with when she was little called "Dick and Jane". Lydia loved it and kept wanting mom to read more.
Saturday mom and I took Lydia to the Discovery Center. She loved it!!! Some of it was to old for her but she still enjoyed looking. They did have alot of activities just for toddlers.
Out side they have a huge playground for kids (and adult) to climb through with hidden places like sand, water and gravel pay areas.

There was a really neat cave built in to the play area. Lydia liked looking at all the interesting things in there. Of course her favorite was the water table where she got to play with the boats.
Mom got to help her color a rock in the craft room. I actually thing mom enjoyed that part more than Lydia. :)
This morning Shannon brought Joshua to church for the first time. I don't think Lydia knew that everyone was there to see her brother because she enjoyed saying hi to everyone that stooped by.
After church mom, grandma and I went to Madison to walk up and down some of the streets with shops. We ended up down by the lake by the UW campus. It was a beautiful day to be outside!
Sorry to give you all these pictures at once (and there are so many more I would love to show you) but I haven't really been home to much to work on my computer. I am enjoying the time with mom and am looking forward to dad coming in a few weeks!

A day of fun!!

Friday I took the day off to spend with Lydia and my mom. It was a great day since it was the last day of VBS at church. Mom was working in the preschool room, so Lydia and I just joined her for most of the time. She loved the activities they were doing!
This is her at song time...she loved the "If your happy and you know it" song!!!
That night we took her to the VBS carnival. She had so much fun there she didn't want to go home when it was over!
There were games that were fun for her to play...even if she didn't fallow the rules :)
They had a few big inflatable jumping tents there that she loved! One even had a slide she got to come down!
She got to try a few new things like snow cones and cotton candy. She loved the snow cone, but the cotton candy didn't last long. I think it was a little sweet for her!
She sure was cute trying to eat it!
At first she was a little scared of the clown, but once she watched other kids with him she decided he was ok.
It was so much fun to spend the day with her and watch her enjoy all the new things at the carnival! Thanks Shannon for letting us take her for the day!

First bath

Last night Mom, Shelley and I went over to Shannon and Josh's to visit for Joshua's first bath! Even Lydia got in on the bath. I think she likes helping out with mommy and daddy.

Lydia also enjoyed having all of there to play with. Mom played store with her for a while then we took her for a walk. She got to take her bike out with us and loved stopping to look at everything.

Everyone is doing great and enjoying baby Joshua! Today was his first doctor's apt. so I will update you on that later. :)

Magic Waters...or not

Tonight was the night that Rockford Health System reserves Magic Waters for their employees and their families. Since it was rainy all day, we had decided not to go and had told Shannon that we wouldn't be picking up Lydia for the evening. Right about 5:00 the sky cleared and we decided to try to go and maybe get to go on a few slides.
When we got there, the sky started looking really dark, so we decided to give up and went to the mall for some dinner. Although it would have been alot of fun to take Lydia we were glad she didn't go because it would have been horrible to her to see the water and tell her she couldn't go in.

On our way home we saw the saw the sun peeking out of the storm clouds and making a beautiful rainbow!

More pictures

Joshua spent all day yesterday under the biliruben lights because he was jaundiced. He looked like he was in a tanning booth with his little goggles on.
Today Shannon and Joshua got to come home! I think Shannon was happy to be home and I know Lydia was excited to be home with her mommy and daddy.
Even though Joshua was wearing a preemie outfit, it still looked big on him. He is so cute!!

Tomorrow is Rockford Health System's night at Magic Waters so mom, Shelley and I are taking Lydia to play in the water! I am sure I will have more pictures from that!

Joshua James Jr.!!

We welcomed another member of our family today!! Joshua James Jr. was born this morning (July 7) at 1:10am. He weighed 4lb 12 oz and was 16in long. With all the scares shannon has had at her doctor's apts. we were expecting the worst and as of right now everything looks great!!!!

They did do a scan of his brain to be sure everything is ok, but the doctor's don't expect to find anything. This is truly an answer to prayer since they were going to induce her early this week which she was questioning to begin with.

This is Lydia on our way to breakfast this morning before going to see "baby Joshua". She loved having so many people around!

Mommy greeting Lydia at the door of her room
She was so excited to see Joshua and loved to touch and give him kisses!
First time holding Joshua! That smile says everything!

Lydia holding baby brother's hand Proud Grandma
Great Grandma-she was so excited to see him it was so cute!
Guess who!!!!
Aunt Shelley
Peeking into his bed
That is just a start of my pictures. If I were to load them all it would take all night!!! If you want to see more watch mom's blog or Shannon's blog for more pictures and info!!

My new job!!!

Alright, I have been wanting to post this for while now but wanted to wait until it was a for sure thing. A few weeks ago I applied at Swedish American's child care center. Just 24 hours later I got a call from them wanting to set up an interview, so I did. Another 24 hours after the interview they called with a job offer!! I was really excited about it because it is going to be a brand new center so I will be going in as the "starting staff" and I will be working with the director that left Rockford Memorial about 6 months ago. So, I had my last meeting with them today and filled out all the paper work (along with a drug test that I wasn't sure I was going to pass... just kidding). My last day working for RMH will be Aug. 8th then I have a week off to spend with my parents while they are both in town and will start at Swedish American on Aug. 18th. It is called the Ryan Jury Child Development Learning Center and if you would like to read a little about it there is a article on the website. Right now it is still under construction so you cant see much but a building and alot of dirt, but when it gets to looking a little better I will try to take a few pictures!
